PLESSIX MICHEL PLESSIX THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS Foutoir au manoir (T.4), Delcourt 2001 Original cover. Watercolor, India ink and pastel highlights on paper 32.2 × 50 cm (12.68 × 19.69 in.) Promised and sworn! Toad learns from his misadventures and vows to mend his ways: no more cars or reckless driving. From now on, he'll be wise and quiet, looking after his roses and leading the peaceful life of a gentleman landowner. But alas, he's hardly an owner anymore... because the weasels, weasels and ermines of the Bois Sauvage have taken up residence in his house! And now our fulminant Crapaud is determined to keep one last resolution: to get the Tétard manor back, whatever it takes! It's going to be one hell of a fight... For this fourth original cover of Le Vent dans les Saules, Michel Plessix plays with light and shadow. Sturdily equipped with edged and blunt weapons, a pistol and a blunderbuss, Badger, Mole, Toad and Rat step cautiously into a sort of antechamber. Rat takes up the rear and, looking at the reader, implicitly urges us to follow him and his companions. On the right, we see the entrance to a generously lit salon. Inside, squatters are having a hell of a time. Quiet! The element of surprise must be total, if the operation is to succeed. Action.
