I remember a scene in the rain with the Snowman, drawn by Régis, and in making this one, I sought to recapture its strength, and even to do it better! This scene is one of the most beautiful I've ever done. I worked on it with a brush, and above all with a lot of energy, to convey the power of the falling waterspouts. The inking had to vibrate and resonate in all directions to give the impression of being underwater. I used a large dry brush to reproduce the quivering sound of the water. I've been told there's an air of Will Eisner in the way I render rain. It's true that I can see the throw of his inking.
