"This is the cover for the latest album, which I designed to echo that of the first volume of Le Grand Mort. In both cases, the composition is very simple, with the characters advancing through the tall grass. The difference between the two is the child on the shoulders: here, it's a boy with a doll representing a girl, whereas in Le Grand Mort, it's a little girl with the same doll in a boy's version. I love creating bridges between my series, like the red butterflies in Avant la quête and Ténébreuse. A cover for La Quête necessarily involves a lot of discussion with Loisel, but also with the publisher, and you have to find something that appeals to everyone. It doesn't have to be complicated, but I have to admit that, for this one, I did a lot of circling around the subject before I realized that this very simple scene was ultimately the most appropriate."
