A moment suspended... In the distance, the sound of war echoes and everyone looks up at the reddening sky. It sets the tone for these days in 1942. Men dressed in white, riding tall black figures, seem oblivious to the inevitable fall. I remember drawing this large image in the evening, in the quiet of my studio, no music... just silence. And yet, just over 2,000 kilometers away, the noise was deafening. Bernard Vrancken
