Signed. Indian ink and graphite on paper 42 × 56 cm (16.54 × 22.05 in.) Preparatory stage: 29.6 × 41.8 cm Things get serious for Jean-Marc Rochette and his friend Sempé. After a few runs in the Vercors, the tandem tackled their first real route in the Oisans: the famous Dibona, a granite needle over three thousand meters high. Guaranteed thrills and extreme concentration for the two novice climbers. With this composition, I wanted to put the reader in the place of the climbers, to feel the apprehension of these two little guys from Grenoble, who have nothing of the body-built Tarzans, in front of this steep and smooth wall, where they can hurt themselves.
