On this beach in Northern Brittany, which I like to draw so much, where the retreating sea has left puddles and the sky is reflected, everything looks calm. Yet the Sparrowhawk seems on the lookout. The shoulder strap of his gun hangs across his chest, his sword is on his belt, and the Russian leather giberne holds his cartridges. The gooseneck hammer on his snap hook is raised, and he has his finger on the trigger, ready to fire. Hum!
