Greg is one of the most important figures in the history of Belgian comics. Not only is he the scriptwriter of some of Spirou's best albums, notably Z comme Zorglub, and the creator of excellent gags for Modeste and Pompon, he was also editor-in-chief of Journal Tintin during its golden years, revealing a series of artists such as Hermann, Dany and Dupa. But his most complete creation, in which he excelled in both script and drawing, was the sententious bourgeois ventripotent, as much a talker as a scholar, created in 1963 for the newspaper Pilote: Achille Talon, alias "Chichille" to his friends. This cover features Papa Talon and Marquise Virgule de Guillemets, his eternal fiancée.
