And you don't need to see his face to guess the extent of his frustration. "Yes, I thought a close-up of his shrivelled motorcycle would be more eloquent than his disconsolate face. And, strangely enough, it was only after I'd found this gag that I remembered that I, too, had nearly ended up on the floor because of an unfolded side stand. Except, as far as I was concerned, if I had forgotten to fold it down, it wasn't because I was in too much of a hurry, but because of too much emotion. It happened just fifty metres from the dealership where, a few minutes earlier, I'd bought my first big bike. And when, in my excitement, I turned into the first street on the left, only ten seconds after taking possession of it, the machine of my dreams was already dented all over. And so was I."
