ZEP TITEUF, Glénat Original illustration published in Tchô ! magazine. Signed. Colored ink and India ink on paper 25 × 12.2 cm (9.84 × 4.8 in.) Zep has a lot in common with Franquin or Gotlib: he's a master of character acting, imagining gags where, as here, he can capture paroxysmal behavior; but he's also a perfect stylist. We don't realize it, because, like Franquin and Gotlib before him, he suffers from the prejudice reserved for authors who write for children. "It's not fair", Titeuf would say, and so would we. But history takes its revenge. But Zep and Titeuf will long be remembered for the indelible, sincere and profound mark they left on the imagination of the time.
