HERMANN - Lot 94
HERMANN BERNARD PRINCE Le Port des fous (T.13), Le Lombard 1978 Original plate no. 11, prepublished in Le Journal de Tintin no. 106, September 20, 1977. Signed. India ink on paper 36.7 × 46.6 cm (14.45 × 18.35 in.) In 1977, Greg and Hermann were established authors. Soon, the latter will take his independence and sail off to other climes than the Journal Tintin, which is in its twilight years. In the meantime, Greg has come up with an original scenario: Barney Jordan and Bernard Prince must recover a ship abandoned by its crew in six days in the Far North. But how did it become a "ghost ship"? This is the sequence in which the group of investigators arrive at the ship and begin their investigations. Two remarkable devices in this page: the slow rise of the low-angle camera and the irruption of darkness... The suspense is at its height. Great art.
